Terms of Service
Last updated: March 15, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using securetext.cloud (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. Your continued use of the Service following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
2. Service Description
securetext.cloud is a free, online encrypted notepad that uses zero-knowledge architecture. Notes protected with a password are encrypted entirely in your browser using AES-256 encryption before any data is transmitted to our servers. We cannot read, access, or recover the content of password-protected notes. The Service requires no registration or account creation.
3. User Responsibilities
You agree to use the Service responsibly and lawfully. Specifically, you must not:
- Store, transmit, or share any illegal content, including but not limited to content that violates intellectual property rights, contains malware, or facilitates unlawful activity.
- Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm others.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.
- Rely solely on the Service as your only backup for important data — you are responsible for maintaining your own backups.
4. Data & Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Password-protected notes are encrypted on your device; we cannot recover them if you lose your password. We do not collect personal data and there are no user accounts. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details on what data is stored and how it is handled.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from data loss. We make no guarantees regarding the availability, reliability, or long-term retention of any notes stored on the Service. You use the Service at your own risk.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, securetext.cloud and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, given the Service is free, is zero).
7. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
8. Contact
If you have any questions about these Terms of Service, please contact us at contact@securetext.cloud.
